I personally don't use any Activated Charcoal so I replace with bio media. Please don't over think anything your Piranha is going to be fine.

Yes that is the same product that comes with your filter..
They are made of different material although they look like ceramic rings. Don't buy high priced Ceramic rings. They all have the same surface area.

No you can just use exactly what comes with the filter and add extra Biomax if you like.
Way overthinking this. For something small like the ac110 just use the bio max that comes with it and buy another bag if you feel like it.
