Meet Kittiee's Cats

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We're FINALLY getting a pen set up for them so they can go outside again. We had one at our old place for them and they loved it, unfortunately there was no way to connect it to the windows here so we had to leave it behind. :( I'm pretty excited about them going outside again, I hope they like it.

My hubby got the frame from work, he's currently covering it with aviary wire (hopefully Fey can't chew through it, she can chew through chicken wire so I'll have to keep an eye on that) then he's going to attach a tunnel from our bedroom window leading into it, and is going to build platforms and what not in it for them to climb about and play. Hopefully they can go outside in the next week or two. :)

The pen measures 3m long, 1.5m wide and 1.8m high.

Please excuse the mess he's made in our yard, and please excuse the terrible damage to the paint on the nova (car)

Now, before anyone jumps down my throat about keeping my cats inside 24/7 please, hear me out. Firstly I live in an area where people are VERY cruel to cats, I won't post how because its not family friendly in the slightest so you'll have to take my word for it.

Secondly, it's very irresponsible in Australia to let cats have free roam outside. Cats are largely responsible for the decline in our native marsupials (among other things) and I don't want to add to that.

Thirdly, every Tom, Rich and Harry in my area train their dogs to attack cats and I refuse to let my cats be mauled by some vicious mutt.

And last but not least, its somewhat illegal to let your cats outside here, unless you can keep them confined to your property you can get in BIG trouble for letting your cats outside, because of the native wildlife etc.

I'll post more pics as he builds it. :)

Cool cats kittie! I lost it when you showed the before and after dutch ovened cat, and started laughing in class when i saw it.
I have seen news stories of people doing things to cats its really sad. The neighbours cat is super friendly when she visits the garden and lets us stroke her.

I would LOVE an exotic shorthair but my parents are not so keen, one day i will get one of those pudgey faced little wonderpieces :)

Thanks. They're my babies. :)
Bonga is the only one of the three that has a tail, but he's got enough tail (it's super fluffy) to make up for the lack of tail on the other two. :D

As far as getting your own cat goes; my mum had cats when I was growing up but they weren't MY cats. As soon as I turned 16 and moved out of home I got Fey, then a few months later Bonga came into the picture, then about 9 months later my Rumples and his sister were born because Fey got outside and came home preggers... As soon as Rumpy and Flo were 12 weeks I got Fey desexed to avoid any more kittens.

I highly recommend waiting until you move out to get a cat of your own, that way you're 100% in charge of what they eat, where they go etc and can give them the best life possible without your parents complaining.. :)

My brother pleaded to get a savannah cat lol. My mom doesnt like my snake, she doesnt like my fish and blocked my attempt to get another snake to breed them (why i got into fish) and forces me to keep my earthworms in the garage
