Meet Lucifer .... New Red-Devil Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for all the responses....

I have talked with her, and we will try and setup a larger 75-100 gallon in six months or so, but for right now the fish tank budget is a little low.

I tore down the tank today and am redoing the aquascaping with some aquarium safe epoxy. Will be making a cave and adding more substrate so that lucifer can burrow.... before he made his own cave but I was worried that w/o epoxy the surronding rocks may collapse.

As far as having her put her hand in the tank.... that would be funny however probably bad for my health as well as hers so I will probably have to pass on that for the time being...

One more question.... What would be an appropriate South/centeral American cichlid to stock that tank with once Lucifer is moved to a larger tank?

The best thing would be to get a single specimen of several species: angelfish, ram, firemouth, severum are some Americans that would work well in your tank.

Hhaha..look's like his really in hell with size of the tank!

Thanks bro, and nice grammar...

Seriously though.... Do we just need to return him to the LFS and get something else or is he ok for 6 months or so.

The tank is already too small IMO.

A 75 gallon would be adequate for the life of the fish.

Pellets are fine, no need to feed frozen exclusively. Live worms, insects, etc are good too, if you use feeders make sure they aren't sick.

i mean he is a gorgeous fish I'm sure you would love to keep, maybe look on craigslist and you should be able to find a tank for a lot cheaper so maybe could get one sooner, i know i see tanks out here that people are trying to get rid of for cheap all the time and if not a tank large enough for life maybe one that could at least hold him for the 6months until you have funds to get bigger tank (maybe some kind of long dimension tank, that you could still use all your filters and everything on that you already have)

sorry but your RD will not like that tank for long.. Perfect tank for Angel fish, or severums... you can do a lot with a tank with those demension but not with potentially large fish ie. Oscars, RD's, etc...

keep us posted with what you end up doing with that tank.
