We use to keep silkies...we had one grow up pure white with a big black mohican! Had to call her punky... Theyre my fav bantams after english game...

Nice feather duster! J/k, that's a cool looking bird. Do you let your chicken outside to peck around everyday? I'm sure she would really enjoy that. I've never raised chickens but I have raised plenty of ducks and gamebirds. I know that they all loved to scratch around and forage in the yard.

Not right now, since it's the middle of winter.

That's why it's kept in a cage. I'm finding that chickens aren't really any messier than any other bird, maybe even a little cleaner since they don't seem to simply throw food and seed and poo everywhere out of boredom like some of the parrots I've known do.
