Yes but we shouldn't on an exotic pet forum. That's where (for the most part) the enthusiasts are, no one questioned you for having a boa. Yes your boa is (potentially - like the monkey) dangerous (which I already assume you understand as your on an exotic pet forum - so I assume the best, not worst) so why should this guy get judged for having something abit more exotic than your boa, but you can't?
As for the caiman, people shouldn't start with remarks, ESPECIALLY on a forum, the majority of us are, enthusiasts and come on, theres more of us enthusiasts than ignorant people keeping exotics on this forum, so why not start with a welcome, a polite question, and then if it turns out to be one of those "ignorant people" we can start to educate more fiercely.
Why are people on this forum being SO quick to judge and SO uptight in the first place. Come on, just lighten up. I'm not saying I agree with the "pet", I'm not asking you to agree with his choice of "pet" I'm just saying lets just drop the attitude and be the friendly forum most of us are. He is not doing ANYTHING different to ANYONE who keeps exotics here. If he has his permit, lets drop it, we all are taking freedom from these animals, and ALL are unpredictable and it doesn't matter if his is more so than yours for gods sake. People can be so *****y and hipercritical at times.
If you read on the caiman thread, one person (showed) they must have felt abit like a fool...they were expecting a 13 year old kid to say "I've got a three foot tank and a heat mat ready for a caiman. I know they only grow to the size of the enclosure and it will be my best buddy and tame" but what they really got was a specialist wanting to replace his late caiman. Felt abit stupid eh.
KH - Not all of this is by any means directed at you, its directed at those (and they know who they are) who are what I described before. It's getting tiring seeing the same bad attitude to other people on forums. Yes the talk is about animals, but thats exactly it, about! We are talking to other human beings on this forum so why be unpleasant about it. Things could be said in nicer ways, and we are more than well aware of it. I stress that I'm not typically "agreeing" with the type of pet (I actually don't - sorry), and I hope he does realise what hes got himself into, but, I'm not rude about it.
Come on, stop jumping the gun (I mean everyone not just you) comment if you like the goddamn monkey (as I have yet to see you post advice or comment on peoples pics, seems you just post negative) and now the questions have been asked play it cool, wait for the guyto answer. If he's ignorant about the care, THEN begin to educate. Too many people on this forum don't comment unless there is something negative to say, though I have to say we've been lucky with this thread so far.
