Loco you shouldn't expect the worst on here because it is a reptile forum.
We all are in the same boat.
If I posted a pic of my snake and people started slagging me off and assuming the worst, and that I didn't know how to care for it, you better believe I'd be peed off. And so would you (please don't say you wouldn't, we are more alike than you think and I know that would be your immediate reaction), Because I put in so much hard work, effort, time & money into caring and doing the best for my babies, its downrighr insulting to have people judge, critise and be rude to you before they know the situation.

Its a negative and up-your-bum attitude that isn't pleasant, isn't friendly and just a pain the rear.

Give everybody a chance. If they show themselves to be irresponsible, you have more than enough time to start the flaming/educating.

Another reason is, look what happened on the caiman thread. People started to jump the gun, and it turns out the fella was VERY experienced, and how foolish and silly did they look for jumping the gun. Instead of asking rather than immediately assuming (how conviently - The worst) it made them loo so small.

I love this hobby, but the sometimes lack of friendliness and downright rudeness and judging is enough to make anybody think about quitting.

Unfortunately; monkey's are hard to keep ...
They need to be interacted with all the time like any nasty kid!

and trust me when I say NASTY ...

some of them won't keep a diaper on and think that is funny!

My dad bought a chimp for my grandparents when I was real young ... he didn't last long!
too much of a handful!

while growing my mother had 2 vervet monkeys ( at different times) which we found on our farm. the mothers had been killed by poachers. we raised them till they weren old enough to look after themselves and then gave them to people who had other monkeys in suitable enclosures.

both monkeys after years of handling turned on the owners and bit them.

i love monkey but also feel that they will do better left to professionals to care for

I think the real issue isn't keeping a primate here.... it's that this member repeatedly lies about having things. And when he does own things, they aren't cared for in the best manner. His history has come back to bite him on this one (No pun intended.)

Jess, I dont mean on the forum. I mean EVERYWHERE. The world is a place full of idiotic, cruel, ignorant, and hateful people. Not everyone (or even close to everyone) knows and appreciated animals as we do. To most, you either eat them or look at them in a zoo and thats about it.

But some people who didnt do their research (but maybe thought they did) genuinely care enough about animals to fix the problem no matter the expense. And those are the people who become productive and make a difference eventually. Not Petco Joe who bought a retic because he wanted to look cool for his girlfriend.

Were talking about this forum though Loco.
HERE on THIS forum, we are in it together.

So after 40 posts the thread starter has nothing to say? I just find that weird... Cute monkey but should not be a pet if you ask me.

Hey - yo ............. if it had been me with the right money in pocket

that little joker would be enjoying pasta today!

dis pasta bender would of got it too ... look at that little bugger holding the suffed monkey - its way too cool!

Besides that ... if someone like ME had it ...

you could be certain it would end up in a best home for it!

WTF - he just got ripped a new one and YOU EXPECT him to STILL be here sucking dung from everyone?

I would be surprised if he would EVER post on this forum again ...
