I'd question their honesty as this fish has never been bred in captivity. If they do lay eggs take lots of pics and post the evidence here. You'll go down in history as the first to get them to breed in captivity.

Until then I'd be very hesitant to call them a breeding pair... rather call them a bonded pair as they do appear to get along.

:iagree: It makes me almost cringe when I see breeding pair of pikes for sale, especially when they are Lugubris. It is definitely more accurate to say bonded pair when referring to Lugubris pikes!!! :nilly: If they were Saxatilis group pikes then it would be a different story.

Get them going man!! They look magnificent!!! :headbang2 A lot of people have been getting some of the hard to spawn Lugubris spawning, so add another one to the list! Would be awesome to get some cincta spawns!

Congrats on the pike up!! They are amazing!

thanks peanut , there in a 210 with plenty of driftwood and some wild psittacus, hopefully they do spawn for me

Man, I shore hope they are a pair! Almost look like two males from that picture! Cincta can be a little trickier to sex though, haha. VERY cool man! If you ever decide to get rid of them don't bother looking around, I'll take them!

Any type of breeding activity yet? Dropping that pH and hardness? It would be soo cool to get a spawn out of these guys! DO IT!

Thanks everyone, the female gets a fire red color with a more slender build and jaw from my observations, My male is extremely bulkier and is way more green with red but not as vibrant. They are extremely inseperable and I have never seen them apart, its like there glued together hahaha!!!!:) My PH is at around 6.4-6.5 , I have tons of driftwood in the tank and moss, I also have been looking into Almond leaves and about to purchase a R.O system very soon. There tankmates are a trio of wild psittacus:headbang2
