Going to my club's Holiday Party this afternoon - gonna be a blast!

Anyone else?

Matt
North Jersey Aquarium Society had their holiday party last Saturday In 2013 the club will be celebrating it's 60th anniversary. A huge fall weekend event is in the works. World class speakers, tropical fish show, auction, etc. More information about the event will be published in the future.

Anyone else?

Seems like such a strange thing that so many of the folks on this site haven't tapped into the awesomeness that is fish clubs!

Your bad, I guess (says the guy who was offered...and turned down...FREE breeding groups of two rare dwarf cichlids...because I already have 50+ tanks of fish)!

Matt

I have been thinking about joining one, but haven't been able to find one that is close enough to me to be convenient. Closest I have found is about 40 mins away. Not all that far, but not real close either.

I also belong to the Metropolitan Area Killiefish Association. It meets in Lyndhurst, NJ. Members travel from Philadelphia, South Jersey, Long Island, and upstate New York to attend monthly meeting. A 40 minute ride is not that bad, but that is up to the individual. Some people commute that far just to go to work every day. LOL!

I agree - the closest decent LFS to me is over an hour (Glen Burnie) and that's with not much traffic!

Maybe this: http://www.selas.us/portal/

or http://www.reefs.org/forums/topic44954.html

I think that there are some folks in a New Orleans-area cichlid club as well.

Chances are that there are other club members who live near you, so maybe you could carpool or share rides...
