I think it may be this. I was about to throw a powerhead onto the tank, but I don't want so many sucking devices around since the fish are small. And the platys are about to birth some snacks which I want sucked up by the FHs.

Same thing happened in my 5g and 10g that was running a Whisper 10i. Those are crap.
