Almost positive at the end of the last episode I watched it stated clrearly that it was not real. Anyways they showed some video on a kids phone of the FAKE mermaid attacking his brother or whatever sooo fake. Must say one moment were I wish I could get that hour of my life back.

this is why they've never been discovered alive, everyone who finds a live one is lured into their own drowning death. Which is why only dead or stunned ones were found in the documentary.

As for the show its fake. But as for actual mermaids its possible the ocean holds so many secrets you never what's down there
