Should an announcement be made about the app? I see this thread come up every once in a while and it’s always the same thing from people who don’t know the app is gone even though this thread comes up somewhat regularly.
I started one of those threads. The funny thing is the app continued to work on my phone even after it was no longer available. It was not until I purchased a new phone that the app no longer worked.
My exact scenario. I was on an iphone 6 and just moved to iphone 11. I was using it until yesterday essentially.
Btw, I did go to the section where it talks about the board and the app. All I saw was saying the app existing and links to downloading. Probably makes sense to just update that thread.
The app hasn't been supported for years. The company that made us the most recent version of the app went out of business about a year after they made it, leaving us unsupported and about $10,000 in the hole. Folks like you that had phones that were still compatible with the app could continue to use it. Without maker support however, updates were impossible.
At this point, it just isn't worth the money to make a new app. No reputable agency is doing it, MFK never recovered financially from the Monster Energy fiasco, and our new software is mobile native. All of this means we'd have to lay out $10,000+ to a company that probably won't be there in a year just to get a less effective knockoff of chrome that can run the forum software.
It's just not worth it.

Running this site might be going to your head by now, it's a lot to do and I'd like to say that I truly appreciate you taking the time to do what you do for this site.
Also I think a site wide notification might be best to get everyone.
I really appreciate the compliments lol, but for real I never did this?
Y'all MFKers please pipe up on this, I feel like I have but that may just be an artifact of how much I answer this question. If I really haven't, I need to know so I can fix that
