MFK App

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't believe you did however it could have been done before my time or I may have missed it as I do have a bad memory.

Rip the app i was looking it up everywhere to try and find it out of intrest what happend with the whole monster energy drink brand

C Chicxulub , I also never saw a site wide 'the App is dead' topic but did see mentions of it made in the Suggestions forum when people complain about upgrading to new phones!

If you do post a site wide topic on it, also let members know they can use the MFK mobile native alternative.

The app hasn't been supported for years. The company that made us the most recent version of the app went out of business about a year after they made it, leaving us unsupported and about $10,000 in the hole. Folks like you that had phones that were still compatible with the app could continue to use it. Without maker support however, updates were impossible.

At this point, it just isn't worth the money to make a new app. No reputable agency is doing it, MFK never recovered financially from the Monster Energy fiasco, and our new software is mobile native. All of this means we'd have to lay out $10,000+ to a company that probably won't be there in a year just to get a less effective knockoff of chrome that can run the forum software.

It's just not worth it.

Edit- I also found that old post and deleted it

I seriously haven't done this? I feel like I've done this...

Infortunate about the app but good call. I was not fond of it and the current platform is just fine.

I still use the app and it works great. Much faster than using the browser. How about Tapatalk?

I still have the app I’m on an old iPhone 7 but it doesn’t work the way it used to for me.
I have to use a browser.
This subject has come up at least a half dozen times in the last few months.

How about Tapatalk?

Tapatalk is designed to be used with forums running legacy software that isn't mobile native. It converts those older forums into something easily navigated on a phone. Given that MFK is already mobile native, the only thing we'd accomplish by going to Tapatalk is to take away all of the custom features we have on the forum; such as thread prefixes, the custom Marketplace search I built and the awards/trophy points system.

All petty I know, but some people like these things and it seems to me we're giving up more than we gain by going to Tapatalk.

I personally enjoy the marketplace search and the awards system and would not like to see it go unless it was for something that would be worth losing them and tapatalk is not worth it. Should it somehow come to a vote then I’m fighting against it

I use MFK just fine in my phone browser (chrome) so I see no reason to sacrifice functionality for tapatalk.
