  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anyone north of Kentucky or west of Texas is a Yank :P I've not heard of the 2% milk thing either, for café con leche they use whole milk I think, but usually half and half is used for most stuff.

I'm an all espresso guy, for some reason never got into drip coffee.. I guess all that sludge they called coffee in the Navy ruined me..lol
Double shot in the morning before i get in the shower, tripple shot latte when i get to work, double shot before i leave work, and then another tripple at home before heading to my kids sports.. Yea i'm a little addicted to coffee..lol

Says the person in florida *snorts* :)

*Who goes to school in Florida. I'm from South Carolina :cool:

Oh, well that's different. That's fair enough. Don't assume everyone out west isn't from the South either though. ;)

First bit of advise ... don't call us Yanks unless you are in the Northeast (Boston, NY). Depending where you are, you are quite likely to get a punch throw at you!!!!

lol, whoops! Didn't realise it was an offensive term, perhaps it goes back to WW2 but "yanks" is a fairly common term here for Americans.

"A true flat white ought to have the same quantity of extracted coffee as any other beverage on the coffee menu (generally 30ml) but because it is served in a smaller vessel (175ml) it has stronger flavour than say a latte which is normally served in a 225ml vessel and is subsequently milkier. The consistency of the milk is another point of difference between a flat white and a latte – a latte has a creamy, velvety layer of milk on the surface which can vary in depth depending on where you buy your coffee. A flat white has a thinner band of the textured milk, ideally with a shinier surface."

Or, "similar to an original Italian cappuccino, which is a single espresso with microfoam served in a 150–160 ml cup."

I'm not particularly fond of the drip/filter stuff, but I'll gladly drink it if nothing else is available. At home I use a moka pot to make my own espresso, which I usually drink fairly milky but strong, no sugar.

Only offensive to Bostonians and rednecks (south of kentucky and east of texas) ;}

Since it is north of Kentucky, you southern folks consider West Virginia a "yank" state?

I'm a Yankee! Nothing wrong with being a yank mate. And I like strong coffee, none of that fancy store bought nonsense, right on the stove in an old fasion coffee pot! Perking away and making the house smell like morning!
