On my tank I use two bulbs.. One Daylight bulb from lowes and one Power-Glo bulb. TBH I noticed that the blue popped a little when I added the Power-Glo bulb but it wasn't enough of a difference for me to spend another $25 on a second bulb.

i personally think the power-glo bulbs are worth buying to replace other bulbs, like daylight. it shows more of the fishes colour without making it look too un-natural
He's an unusual Dovii for sure. He chases the much smaller Grammodes here and there but without damage and completely ignores non-threats like the Datnoids, silver dollars and bichirs. Put an equal size cichlid in the tank though (or me lol) and it's game on.
I think the "equal size" recommendation that most LFS's and well-intentioned people give is just a recipe for disaster. They're going to work out who's the toughest eventually, and equal sizes just prolongs the process and exacerbates the damage!

Here is a couple of pics of our little (at the moment) guy, used to be in our red devil pairs 5ft but just did a change around (posting more pics and info soon!) and he is now in the 6 with la vey our big oscar and hellboy the male devil...
Sorry for the dodgy pics he is never sitting in the one spot for long!
