i'm thinking as of late that my 'male' is a female. it looks so different to my other females though. what you reckon?

That is the one in your avatar? The supposed male you recently received? From those top pics yes it does look like a female. My old beautiful female had "bronze" spots above the lateral line, yours appears to have the same spots. She was one of the best looking females I had seen though. How big is that one?

This is my old female when I was still debating if she was a she or a he. One thing to keep in mind is this pic was taken without any other dovii in the tank. Once I added a male she looked completely different, especially during their courting.

After I added the male..

And once she hit 7" she looked like this..

yep it's the one in my avatar. it's close to 8".

i'm pretty much giving up on the whole dovii tank for now. i'm trying to sell my girls off to people who have males to try get them to breed. so far we have 3 people (that i know of) in perth trying to breed them. i'll just grab a whole bunch of fry from a batch and grow them up myself.

At 8" I'd say it's a really nice female. Pull her out and get a vent shot and we can tell you 100% for sure but I'm 98% sure it's a female
