[Piranhas and Cichlids]

Here are a few pics of my female Dovii with her 1st male, who was smaller than her, and with her 2nd male, who was alot bigger than her. She had babies with both of them.

The smaller male later jumped out of the tank...

The female died when a snow/ice storm caused a power outage to my house for 4 days, but the large male survived.

He died about a month ago, totally unexpectedly. I came home from work and he was lying on his side, lifeless. He was swimming around that morning when I left for work. He was 14 inches long...

Thanks! Actually all 3 of them ended up dead. Now I'm starting over with some juveniles I plan on raising up!

ok so here's the deal... a while ago i sold my big female dovii (12") to buy a male juvi to grow up myself as i had bought the F at 11". i bought what i thought was going to be a stunning male but to my dismay it started looking more and more female. after a few months i deicded to try again with another juvi, then another, then another until i ended up with 4 females . i gave my first dovii to a mate to look after in his pond just in case

turns out it was a male all along and my mate graciously gave him back to me 2 days ago (he already has a breeding pair).

here's a few pics to show my males progression - bar the big gap that i didn't own him for!

my shemale, which i now know is a definite female is the same size as him, and didn't like it one bit when i introduced him to the tank. i ended up having to take her out for a day to cool off because she was starting to nail him. i've put her back in now and they seem to be getting along ok. fingers crossed they pair up

nah it's in my tank. the shemale is in front in the 4th last pic. i'm pretty sure it's a girl anyways...

yeah thats the male with the tape measure next to him. they are all the same male dovii except for the 4th last pic which has my shemale in front
