Pet Quarters does have a decent selection, of the more common fish, they seem to know there stuff, a little bit, a tiny bit over priced when it comes to a few things though.

Little Shops of pets - always has a good selection of fish, I'd say litterally almost a full wall dedicated to them decent prices, seems to know quite a bit.

NERD/Zoo Creatures - a bit pricey, but generally has a decent selection of fish, decent selection of reptiles, however I have seen some crested geckos with stomaches that looked caved in, and a few dirty tanks.

My favorite has to be P.A.W., Pet & Aquatic Wearhouse in Lynchburg VA. They have a huge selection of fish, an outdoor pond area...and one section of the upstairs is reptiles and the other section is puppies, kittens, birds, and stuff. Not to mention another section of the upstairs is all pet foods. I go there at least once a week!

Petland Duluth Ga its a chain store but the guys working there are into what they do and have monster fish. they are also willing to order oddballs like payaras and cowfish.
