Technically your right he is a big man, but being one and playing like one are 2 different things. I think it would help if you had another big man on the floor because it would take a ton of pressure off him defensively, and it would allow him to use his length on who ever he is gaurding, because most nights he will be longer than his man, and offensively it will allow him to operate outside a little easier, and make his post game more effective.
The biggest thing I saw when watching Miami, is when they put shots up (and they are jacking them up now) Marion and Beasley are forced to go in and try and bang and get rebounds because they are they "big" men, but they can't do much because they get pushed around. A center would really help that issue.
Yeah, I can agree with that. I guess I just look at it as if/when they do, get a big they will have position issues with Haslem, Beasley, and Marion. Not that that's an issue, you'd have a great 6th, but I don't see any wanting to. Yes Beasley is now, but with improvement to expectations, he won't.
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling Detroit's backcourt now. Stuckey is looking like another Devin Harris surprise, and Iverson seems to be doing ok with it. I think what they really need now is something big out of Maxiel. With Wallace and McDyess out, this is his time to prove. But you know, there's always Kwame....
I can't help but mention how pathetic some teams are this year. I mean seriously, I feel bad for their home fans. OKC, Wash, Sac, LAC, Mem, Min, Char, GS, even Indy, and others. It's not like these teams are stretched for talent. There are some major staffing issues. I was watching highlights from the SA-Mem game tonight, and there were several Mem plays that made me shake my head. One was someone (can't remember who it was) going to the right side lane for a layup. With Duncan standing right there, the guy just tossed it, literally tossed it right in Duncan's face. So of course Duncan sent it out, and the guy just stood there during a SA fast break and shook his head like it was someone elses fault. Some of these guys are just sad.
