Beasley is in a tough spot on that team because they have no bigs, so he's forced to be one. Actually, thats why Marion sucks on that team too.

Yeah, I do agree, but he is 6-10. He IS a big. I'm seeing now that he came out too early. I thought that when he entered the draft, but thought he'd be able to at least make it, but he's not even starting now. He should have stayed another year or two at least. I think if you're going to come out as a freshman, you better make an immediate impact. Oh well, at the end of the year he will have his first off season. That will be where he proves himself. How he builds and improves for next year. I have no doubts he could eventually be the top of this rookie class, but not this year.

Beasley's actually only 6'8. 2 inches doesn't sound like much but it goes from beasley being a good sized PF to a undersized one. Beasley has always been a tweener, a big man with versatile skills, his skillset and leaping ability allows him to play bigger than he actually is.

Well, I thought he was only 6-8 or 6-9, but thought I had seen 6-10, so I checked it and it said 6-10. So that's what I was going off of. Either way. I understand him having problems with teams like Toronto, who basically run two centers in Bosh and O'neal, but otherwise he just can't defend. It's the biggest part of his game he needs to work on. Besides, even if there were another big, what would that change as far as what position they play him? You then have this said center, then Haslem at pf and Marion at sf. Haslem and Anthony have been playing all front court positions, at the same 6-8/6-9 size. If he wants to start in that lineup, he's going to have to improve.

Technically your right he is a big man, but being one and playing like one are 2 different things. I think it would help if you had another big man on the floor because it would take a ton of pressure off him defensively, and it would allow him to use his length on who ever he is gaurding, because most nights he will be longer than his man, and offensively it will allow him to operate outside a little easier, and make his post game more effective.
The biggest thing I saw when watching Miami, is when they put shots up (and they are jacking them up now) Marion and Beasley are forced to go in and try and bang and get rebounds because they are they "big" men, but they can't do much because they get pushed around. A center would really help that issue.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I guess I just look at it as if/when they do, get a big they will have position issues with Haslem, Beasley, and Marion. Not that that's an issue, you'd have a great 6th, but I don't see any wanting to. Yes Beasley is now, but with improvement to expectations, he won't.

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling Detroit's backcourt now. Stuckey is looking like another Devin Harris surprise, and Iverson seems to be doing ok with it. I think what they really need now is something big out of Maxiel. With Wallace and McDyess out, this is his time to prove. But you know, there's always Kwame....:grinno:

I can't help but mention how pathetic some teams are this year. I mean seriously, I feel bad for their home fans. OKC, Wash, Sac, LAC, Mem, Min, Char, GS, even Indy, and others. It's not like these teams are stretched for talent. There are some major staffing issues. I was watching highlights from the SA-Mem game tonight, and there were several Mem plays that made me shake my head. One was someone (can't remember who it was) going to the right side lane for a layup. With Duncan standing right there, the guy just tossed it, literally tossed it right in Duncan's face. So of course Duncan sent it out, and the guy just stood there during a SA fast break and shook his head like it was someone elses fault. Some of these guys are just sad.

beasley is a more athletic big dog robinson in the making...for all you old school NBA guys you know who i'm talking about glenn robinson

Haha, Big Dog....one of the quick rise and falls.

Glenn could sure score though. Thats not a bad comparison Deangelo.

Stuckey has been playing pretty well, but Rip's been out too. Maxiell is a nice player, but he's not going to be more than a bench player. He works hard on his offensive game, but it's not great. Not to mention he is undersized for how he plays. BTW, I wish they would give Kwame some more minutes, I think he has been ok for us this year in limited time.

i think kwame's issues are more mental, like lack of concentration or maybe lack of confidence, but physically he's a big strong guy and more athletic than people think...

houston we have a problem...looks like t-mac's wearing out his welcome in houston

I agree there. He's always had the body to do whatever he wants inside, he just can't ever seem to do it. As far as McGrady, I've never been on the bandwagon, never have cared for his game. He may have talent, but so does tons of other guys in the league. He is one of the most inconsistent guys in the NBA, and for me, one of the biggest letdowns. It makes it even worse that he was built up by everyone.
