Hi everybody,

so it finally happened.. A LOT sooner than i expected. Some of you may know i got two juvi micro snakeheads this summer and they were about 2 inches maybe 2 and a half. I fully expected one to eventually eat the other but it happened just the other day. One of them ate the other one of equal size. Didn't finish him whole, the crabs in the tank finished the rest of it off. I'm kinda pissed off but hey it'll happen. There are only 3 inches max now...

:rip

wow i didnt know that if one has two snakeheads that it is expected that one will eat the other. that must really suck. why put the two together if it is expected that only one will make it?

I think there was an underlying problem there. It your sh only grew .5-1 in since the summer, they are probly sick.

:iagree: C. marulius and C. micropeltes as the two fastest growing snakeheads. In the wild juveniles of the Channa micropeltes, school and feed in packs so at that size should be ok!!! but then again all the ones i have had have been :swear: when they get to 1ft +You should expect at least a growth rate of around 1 inch per month for the first year my one would eat every day if you let him.

oops my bad typo there i meant i got them in xmas.. not summer.... i actually got them beginning of this year... but i was on my xmas holiday...

Just took this pictur from (c)The TRUST MFK Mission: The Philippines - The Final Chapter this proves they can be kept ok together at that size if food is ok but as i say its only a matter of time

They wouldn't have touched each other if they were well fed period.

RobD: So you're saying i don't feed my fish well? They were both about 2 to 3 inches on a diet of 1 molly each, a cub of frozen blood worm and dried krill, they have that everyday. So don't say my fish weren't well fed. PERIOD.
