ohh so you have ichs to? hope your fish gets better. never give up. it takes time. raise the water temperature and add some aquarium salt. hope everything goes well. and hope those links in my previous post helps you.

If it has ich, usually you have to repeat the treatment for about 10 days. I had a product that was malchite green and formaline or somehting like that and it says it cures it in 2 days. It might get rid of the symptoms in 2 days but if you don't continue the treatment i'll just come back.

I had a fish get massive pop eye and after about 2 weeks of it suffering and bearly being able to swim around, i felt bad for it and decided to euthanize it. Later on I had another fish start to get the same symptoms and I remembered that i didn't lower the temperature after raising it for ich treatment, and that that was causing it. So, make sure the temperature is alright.

Yeah he has Ich too. I've added salt and raised the temp as well as I read that it speeds up the cycle of the ich apparently.

Yeah studd, I used those two products. Thanks for the input and well wishes.

Fran, this was my second round of treatment. My fish is about to the point where the one you had was. I'm gonna give him the weekend and if he isn't better I'll put him out of misery

Yeah, if you choose to do it, I used freezing water, I had heard it kills them in seconds.. I guess my water wasn't frozen enough and it took like 15 seconds for him to completly die. Make sure ur water is to the point it is almost ice.

Good luck, I would recommend you don't give up on him. You have no idea how terrible i felt after doing it.

I wouldn't be too quick to euthanize; I know you don't want to, of course, but keep in mind that even if he lost the eye, as long as you can cure the over-riding problem - - ich, fungal infection, etc. - - your fish could still live a normal life

if you do decide to euthanize, try something more humane and reliable than freezing; here is the Euthanasia sticky: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=243553

Yeah, the reason i froze was cuz i read somewhere that it was just as humane as other methods... Wasn't that humane though...

yeah, I almost used that method once myself, after seeing it recommended several times; but after coming across a series of "don't do it!" comments, I did a little more research and I found a product called Euthanase that basically puts the fish to sleep, and then puts it down permanently . . . it worked, and certainly seemed humane
