that midas is awesome that festae is a monster too my two favorite fish i know alot of people don't understand my name midtae but one half is midas other half festae i came up with midtae anyway my two favorite fish love them.

haha..., I never would have put 2 & 2 together on that name.

wow ! very nice - do ya think i could put a smaller midas in with my 8 inch dempsey ? he's in a tank of africans right now ... ? I want to sell the africans and just have one or two large specimen fish again..

Always a possibility in a large enough tank. Personally , I wouldn't mix an rd or midas with others in anything less than a 6' x 2'. Personality/aggression really is on a fish by fish basis.

ok how do you get the black background in the pix? i am putting money on the midas he has that mad look in his eyes...

The black background is easy to get when you use an overhead flash. The tank being 4' from front to back helps a little too.

He looks great, come a long way. Atleast they have plenty of room in that tank so it shouldn't get serious.

Thanks. At a guess? I would say the midas would be 12-13" and the festae an inch longer.

Both fish are absolutely stunning! I wouldn't want to wager on that fight. I hope they keep bluffing. I would hate for any of those guys to suffer lost scales and split fins. You have a great tank and stock.
