You guys are crackin me up! OK, Dept. of Wildlife's response to this situation was a phone call, followed by my exploitives, including 15 large predatory mammal kills of our livestock in the last 2 years, the dude says: "So do you have a question, I don't understand why you called us?" I'm like befuddled...he blabs on, are you SURE it's a Cougar? No S. Sherlock, I have plaster castings of his tracks even..he sits in the tree in my yard and growls at us. Dude says "Cool! Didn't know they came there" I can't go outside without a shotgun or the .45, locked and loaded.
No one would do anything-it's just really wild here......
...and when attacked by dogs they lay on their back, bite the juglar, wrap front paws around to hold it and disembowel it with their back claws.
So now the barn houses a Stray cat , A Bobcat (no pics yet-he sits in the driveway) and Mama Cougar makes her appearances when one finally lets down their guard, walks outside at night unarmed and Suprise! grrrrrrr pucker factor!
Yeah, she's on the porch, stole a quarter of a deer too....
But they are just too beautiful and rare to kill unless it's necessary, they are cold, hungry and desperate right now, The Mtns habe been hit with 7 ft of snow this week. I just stay in when the big one's around because I don't want to force a confrontation.
It took 2 yrs to get a pic!
