Its says military so I assumed military veterans..... However I didnt see anyone post in this thread so thats why I was asking.
I pulled 21 years. My son is just coming up to his 3rd year in the Army. He was a small engine repairman in S. Korea but, now he's training with Airborne.
Awesome! S. Korea i did some training out there matter of fact I was jumping out of ch 47 at about 10000 ft into the ocean right off the coast .... Is your son still stationed out there?
He's at Ft Campbell, KY. He's training for forward deployment.
USMC 0311/8541 98-06. Medically retired and rated 100% permanent and total thru the VA. Ya, I'm ****ing gimp and proud of it!
US Air Force 1976 to 1980, US Army 1980 to 1984. I don't think I ever mentioned this before, but yes the first four years of my enlistment were spent in the USAF 30750 E4 Sr Amn. My last duty station was as a Tech Controller in Turkey. Once I realized you could not get promoted in the USAF and I had no desire to remain an E4 Sr Amn then an E4 Sgt (everyone except the high command thought that was weird) before being eligible to test for E5 SSgt. I transferred directly into the Army after my enlistment was up with no disruption in service (This wasn't as easy as you might think). I made E5 SGT in 1981 and E6 SSG in 1983. My last assignment was attached to a USAF security unit in are you ready??? Turkey! I requested Fort Shafter Hawaii LOL. They called me Pops, I was 26 but the only person anyone in the unit had ever seen that served in both branches. Be careful what you wish for. After my second enlistment I got out. I still have all my uniforms both USAF and USA.
