what do you guys think? im just worried that my tank would get a little tight being only 18" wide
also what about tankmates?

they are slow growers and rarely get over around 10-12 inches...so a 55 would work (as a bare minimum). Even better a 75, for a solo argentea. 90 would be perfect if hes solo or just with dithers for life.

o wow i was thinking they got bigger!
i have a 125 6'x18", so i guess the main question is how peaceful?

well im trying to make mine work in a 5' 120g with tankmates so i guess we can experiment together lol, n yeah they normally dont get over a foot for males females i think like 10 MAX, but yeah when they little they are wimps (at least mine is anyways) but as they grow they are supposed to be pretty aggressive, i think there are some people on here that cant keep their's with anything :(

55 should be ok for 12-18months.they are very slow growers and i keep 6 in a 65g tank and have no problems. just do twice wekly waterchanges and all should be fine.

 what do u notice with their behavior?

I think aggression depends on the fish. I have seen really aggressive argentea's, as well as really passive ones. I think once they hit that 7-8" mark their aggression starts to show. Ime males also like to beat up on their female partners, so be careful of that if you are planning on keeping a pair.
