Alright so i currently only have a 50 gallon and a 10 gallon but lately ive really been talking myself into getting something bigger to get some of the fish i really want. So these are just a guideline as to what I would like to find out. Interested in the minimum tank size required for each of these fish seperately and also if I was to have a few of them together:

RTC
TSN
RTCxTSN
Paroon
silver or jardini aro
clown knife
aligator gar
maybe a few types of birchirs?
.. a few more that i can't think of right now but will probably add in a post when i remember.

so indivudal min tank sizes and tank sizes to have a few togehter etc. also .. with these type of fish in mind what would be a nice "predator" stock list along these lines. including or excluding the fish I have on the list. someone e-mailed me today with a 150 gallon so thats an option. waiting to get a price from him. i also know theres an amazing deal on a 100 gallon i noticed today. 100 gal with everything included for $80. thats not big enough for what i want but sounds like a tough deal to pass up.

just the clown knife and aligator gar alone would require a very large tank. I'd think a 150 wouldn't be enough for the two of them let alone the rest of the fish you have listed above

not what i asked. thanks tho .. i dunno how big im gonna be looking at. might not get either of those two. those are the two fish least important on the list to me. id liek someone to say each fish and the min tank size for that fish and a min tank size if i was to put in sayy, an rtc, a tsn and an aro .. maybe a birchir too or something else instead. see how it goes. anyways someone hook me up with that?

a tank with everything on that list except the clown knife and bichirs needs a footprint of at least a 10' x 10' footprint. id recommend a pond.

If you wanna keep big cats you need a BIG tank. I have a 150 and there's no way I'd put an rtc in there. I'd say you'd wanna be in a 300 gallon or larger.

a pond wont be easy since it has to go in my room ... and still not answering my question guys! .. i know their are people online here who have rtc's and tsn's in their home aquariums so what sizes? can someone just copy and paste the list then add numbers after each?

It sounds like none of these fish are a reasonable option for you.

RTC - gets like 4 feet long
TSN - almost as big as the RTC
RTCxTSN - again, massive
Paroon - huge
silver or jardini aro - 30" for a silver is pretty big, not sure about jars, they stay smaller but aren't very nice
clown knife - 2 feet+
aligator gar - a few feet, not sure exactly
maybe a few types of birchirs? - depends on the species, the largest ones will get about 2 feet or so.

Unless your room has a concrete floor you probably shouldn't be putting a tank large enough to house almost any of these in it.

RTC: 10'x4'x3'
TSN:10'x4'x3'
RTCxTSN:10'x4'x3'
Paroon:10'x4'x3'
silver or jardini aro:10'x4'x3'
clown knife:10'x4'x3'
aligator gar:20'x20'x10'

any other opinions? i know personally someone who has an rtc and tsn along with something else that i dont remember but not as big in 240 gal aquarium for 8 years now and they are only outgrowing it now. i dont at alll plan on keeping any of these fish for that long. 2-3 years is enough for me then theyll probably go in my friend (LFS owners) few thousand gallon tank he has in the store. hes the one who has them now. he said hed suggest 240 if im not keeping that long but i wanted mfk's opinion also if it could go any smaller

Ahhh...let MFK do the research for ya

You'd be better off figuring what is the largest possible tank you can get and build a stock list for that size tank.
