Ouch, you got to go down stairs, have you caculated how much that thing is gonna weigh?

Yes I know how much it will weigh. That's why I'm getting it done after I move so I only have to move it once.

ya .. no big als here :( unfortunitly .. and talked to my buddy tonight about the tank prices. he said unfortunitly his wont end up being a whole lot less the pets unlimited. he said he can get me a 180 right now for 999 and a 150 for 699 .. which are a bit cheaper then pets unlimited but still not whitin my price range. he said they are getting a new line up sometime in the next few months though with new prices .. new dimensions for different sizes that you can't order now and new shapes .. he said some bigger tanks will be able to come in the "squiggly front" look .. where it cends out then bends back in etc. havent seen one before so thatll be interesting. but either way still a bit out of my price range. from what i've heard it sounds like you can go different places and get someone to make one for you .. where are you guys talking about that could do this? like a glass store?

Minimum? I don't believe in Minimums. Minimums are for beginners. They're like training wheels for bikes.

For animals there is always a minimum enclosure size whether your experienced or a beginner. You comment suggests that an experienced fish keeper can keep a big fish in a small tank.

Good reply Aiden!

To correct the in example GudEnuf made... training wheels are "overkill"... "minimums" are like the two primary wheels on a bicycle...

Ignoring accurate minimum requirements is like trying to ride a bicycle across country without a front wheel...

i say this

get peacock bass ( occelaris)
or
a very agressive cichlid like a flowerhorn :)

so? i got a few opinions .. i read them.l last time i checked there were more then 7 members on mfk lol. just seeing what else is out there. reality is alot of people here consider their fish like their children. .. i don't consider them like that. i treat my fish like fish .. treat my dog liek a dog not a human. although i don't get how people say these tank sizes for fish but have no problem leaving a dog for hoursss in a dog house thats not much bigger then their bodies. lol anyways. .. thanks guys. i'll figure it out for myself. you guys take it to the extreme a little. thanks tho

Dogs are dening animals they are use to sleeping in small spaces for hours on end....Dogs can be let out of the crate, fish cannot....You are like many customers I see that think that fish live for 5 years or even when you know they live for four times that you don't care....Just get a 180gal tank and put your Oscar in that add another cichlid or get a lower jaw Bichir, that will stay in it for life and in 20 years you can decide on something different, if you don't plan on keeping the fish for its entire life then GTFO of this hobby and get a yorkie and feed it old roy so it will live for 5 years, (which is the same amount of time it takes you to get bored of it....) Gosh that was a long rant....Troll

from working in the petfood industry, old roy makes me laugh. ha!

Might as well be feeding the dog leather, sawdust and oil.
