Kolossus;2702485; said:Is that an acrylic top you built? Lets see some pics of the top. I built one for mine but I rarely even use it now as I built it from wood and screen and it is too much of a hassle to remove as I often hand feed my rays. So now I just use egg crate fixtures.
jp80911;2702749; said:the top is acrylic, dont' have any pic of it but I attached the drawing I made. there are two pieces and connected with hinges. I could have more openings but as acrylic itself is a fairly soft material I would need to use additional metal frame for better support. Unless I go with much thicker material which means more expensive.
made a mistake in the current design with the reinforce acrylic strips used. they are not strong enough so the cover bow a little towards the center. I should've used more than just two..well too late now.

Oh and I bought mine off of a fellow MFKer for $500. DAS does not sell to home buyers...just businesses.

Oh and I bought mine off of a fellow MFKer for $500. DAS does not sell to home buyers...just businesses. I know this because I attempted to purchase the filter for my tank as it did not come with one. I have two internal pumps with filters (one of them a pond filter), I'm running and FX5 through a waterfall spillway filter and I have an additional two FX5s running on it. I'll take more shots sometime in the near future as it is an entirely different set up now.
jp80911;2702927; said:500 is good deal, too bad they don't sell to home buyers. but I'm sure you can ask a good lfs to order it for you as long as you pay upfront so they don't stuck with the bill.
what the dimension of yours and what kind of filter you use with it?

You must be reading very fast.
Kolossus;2704205; said:The answer to your question re: filters is in the post you just responded toYou must be reading very fast.
Here are the dimensions...Can anybody calculate the exact gallons? Math is not my strong suit![]()

jp80911;2704259; said:Yea I was reading very fast, a little too fast.
if the tank is the same height as mine, which is 21" then it should be ~300g, +/-10~20gallon or so. pretty big tank man.
wish mine was that big. When do you plan to sell it![]()
Kolossus;2704625; said:So it is a 320. Thats what it was sold as...I just wasn't sure because DAS's tank like this one on their site was like 380 or so, so I was a little confused. This one must've been custom. Not selling it anytime soon though![]()
