well Gstate i'm not sure about exodons but pristella tetras might work for you, golden barbs are also easy to keep
I'm not sure if you can really even find the buck tooth in a lfs
follow my link in an earlier post and see if you like any fish there.

I would suggest a 20 gallon, you can buy one with filters and everything for less than $60. Then more fish would become available to u

So since I posted this a while ago and just had my tank sitting for weeks ready for fish, I couldnt help but to get some fish. I ended up getting 6 neon tetra and 2 black kuhli loaches. I was considering ordering some Glass headstanders (charrax gibbus) <---extremely hard to find or some Exodons, pretty hard to find also. I called a LFS in san francisco and they have exodons for 3.99 or 3 for 10, I havent been down there yet but I went to a LFS in San Jose, right by my house so I decided to take a look. Amazingly they have everything...Huge Koi in a pond that come up to you and you can even pet them! They had both Exodons and Glass Headstanders...my question is which one should I go with? Do you need to keep the headstanders in groups or anything?

okay them X24 but don't recommend difficult fish, that you just googled, to a beginner then!
these fish need soft acidic water, will only accept live live foods, and very good water quality with low to zero nitrates, alot of plants and the feeders will probably have to be quarantined first to not realise a disease to it.
so it's not a beginner fish IMO.

They aren't very hard. all you need is a 10 gallon tank with a piece of driftwood and some low light plants, do weekly water changes and have a steady supply of feeder guppies, earthworms (if it will take them, mine wont)
