Mini Tiger Grow Out Progress

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here is my little silver tiger. He is about two inches and is almost ready to go into the grow out tank with the rest of the baby indo tigers. He is currently in a fluval spec for quarantine.

So I was looking through some pictures from a year ago and noticed some of my 1.5"-2" tigers were very oddly shaped compared to the nine I have now. The previous group had a build not typical for datnoids, where my current group are shaped like full grown monsters on a miniature scale. My guess is that these guys have been on massivore from .5" while the others were likely only eating live and were skinny from travel and lack of growth for who knows how long.

I feel like I should say, the older tigers I had came into ships looking this way and gradually started to look more normal though it did take some time.

9 days you give in to fast if a big tiger can go 2 months without food a small one can go 3 weeks easy
the key is dont ever feed feeders and only feed pellets from day one
I broke the rule and gave them guppies. 5 days later I got all my IT dats to eat chopped shrimps. Now that they are eating regularly they should grow fast.

Started out 6

2 died, 2 won't eat anything except bloodworms and 2 will take colorbits

The 2 that are on pellets have large body with small eyes and the 2 on bloodworms have small body with big eyes :O

I also had a few that wont take anthing but bloodworms, starved them for a few days and then only offered prawns to them and they took them! Since then I have slowly transfered them onto to massivore. I have about 10 in the collection!

My little update of my IT that eats NLS pellets. He actually prefers eating pellets than tilapia or any live/frozen foods I offer him. The other guy hides all the time and won't even touch the pellets.. he does go after the Tilapia though.
