Mini Tiger Grow Out Progress

I picked up 1 IT about 4 days ago and he is eating live black worms. He is in a 29 gallon planted tank with medium sized gravel and a few other fish.

1 - Angel fish
2 - red tailed sharks
1 - conga barb
2 - bleeding hearts (hope to get rid of ASAP)
3 - Otto's
1 - Aquatic Frog (the IT has been picking on him so I don't know how long he will last lol)

I wanted to get a fish that can grow to be a MF and I thought the IT was the coolest one. I paid $30 for him at Pet Pourri in Washington but I haven't seen them anywhere else, ever.. I know I probably paid too much.. :/

I really want to get some more of these guys and/or another cool fish that will be able to grow up with him. Any recommendations?

Also, my friend is saving my his 55gal so I can put them in there when they grow out of the 29gal. Planning on doing sand, a couple logs, rocks, and some plants. Planning on getting a sting ray as well.

I wouldn't put a ray with a Datnoid, I've passed up rays because they're so demanding when it comes to water quality and NEED such large footprints. Also they're illegal in CA lol. Sounds like you have your tiger in a good environment but I would recommend skipping the 55g and going straight to a 75 or larger. Start saving now and you'll be set when the time to upgrade comes. And $30 isn't too much I you truly love you fish.

Just picked up an Ualu cichlid to grow up with the IT! I took a couple pics but could not get a good one of Tiger.. I will try again tomorrow. Their is a tank picture as well.

PS. I have always had fish tanks.. but I am pumped to be getting into some big fish! It's an expensive hobby but it is worth every penny!! 😝

I only have 1.. The Pet store I go to said they are saving the rest cause one of their employee's wants to raise them up for their shop trophy tank.. I asked them if they could possibly get me a NTT and they said they would work on it an hold one for me when they can.

But the one in my tank right now has been great! Every time I walk into my room he goes to the front of the tank and is as bright as ever. He eats like crazy to!
