the width is more important for jars, leis, ect, which all have stiffer bodie types and dont turn as easy. silvers and like aros ar much sleeker and can turn just fine in a 75g footprint. ive even seen them in 55s for long periods of time. they can fold their bodies almost in half with no problem

Gotta disagree here. A 2' wide tank is pushing it for an adult silver. Kept long enough and fed well its going to get over 2' long easily. Any tank the fish has to hit the sides on while turning is to small.

not all adult silvers grow to be the same size. ive seen some stop growing at 14 (or slow dramatically) ive also seen some at 30. its a situational

If a silver Arowana stops growing at 14" something is wrong. Saying fish size is situational is bad advise, very close to saying they'll only grow to the size of their tanks. My silver grew to 16" in under a year.

I dont remember saying an 8' tank is a necessity, what I did say was more than 2' wide. And yes I do my research and I know that no two fish are the same but there is an average size and the average size of a healthy silver arowana in a properly sized aquarium is more than 2'. Situational size is something I have Never heard of. If you dont have the right sized tank then you'll never know what the size of that specific fish should be.

and if your aro is growing to 16" in less then a year its being overfed and is probably unhealthy.
 This look like an unhealthy fish to you?

where do you think "average" comes from? hahha.

and, if its been less then a year and its 16", yes it is unhealthy. congrats on shortening its life by forcefeeding.
Average and situational are no where near each other by definition. And how do you forcefeed a fish? Fact remains the same a 2' wide tank is not big enough for a Silver Arowana for life. Read through a few posts and you'll see 240 is the reccomended size tank for a silver arowana. 240G 72x30x25 or 240GW 60x36x25

since you dont get it, its useless to try to explain any further.

the point remains. some are smaller, some are larger. if you know what youre dealing with, the "average" is a useless number. if you have a 36" aro, the "average" is too small.

do your research before you buy any fish and make sure you can accomodate it as it grows. while its a juvie, you can have it in a 30g tank. but be prepared to upgrade as needed. if this isnt an potion for you, any 6' tank will be fine. you can have silver(S) in a 125 with no problems.
