Hi Guys.

Here in Australia, Silver Arowanas are the only/most common Arowana available, so if I were to get an Arowana it would have to be one of these. But since they are one of the bigger species, what is the minimum tank size for these fellas? I was thinking of an 8'x3'?

haha where did you get your info from?
If you look there are alot more than just silvers around.
8x3x2 is heaps of room for a silver.
Only aro that seems hard to get in oz atm is africans

I think a 300g (96"x30"x24") is fine. With the ability to grow over 30" I think that it can easily flex in a 30" wide tank if it grows to even 36"

14inch full grown silver ouch?! i had this one when just lost egg sack in feb. and hes already pushing 14 inch

wow.. interesting how these threads always end up where some guys saying they are fine in a 220 battle it out with the other guys that say they need 1000s of gallons.. and then comes the guys actually owning full grown silvers SHOWING how they did it.. thank you midnight!

I personally think you will be fine with your 8x3x3.. that is more than most aros will ever have.. just be sure to give it lots of love and care and good water and quality food.. Respect to fish keepers from australia btw with those price tags..
