I would never feed an aussie tree frog to an aro. They're endangered. The Introduced american bullfrogs would be good tho.

:)

Anyway enough of the chit chat. All that was needed fome me was a really big.

I LOVE YOUR AROWANA!

Now back to reality, can someone answer my Q, or does that require a sencond thread.

8x2x2 should be good enough for a silver for "life". it'll adjust till 30 or so inches and thereafter it'll probably die. So all its "life" it'll be there. "good for life".

I think you already know the answer. Also you have already made up your mind. unfortunately, both the answer to ur question and ur notion are contrary to each other. so why invite debate when ur mind is already made up. so dont speculate; just go ahead and keep it in the 8x2x2 and find out for urself !

may be ur aro will stop growing beyond 16 inches ??? LOL.

good luck.

Midnight; just wondering if you have any plans to upgrade the tank, or are you just going to make the fish fold itself in half every time it turns for the remainder of its life? It doesn't look uncomfortable now, and its certainly not at the ürgent"stage yet, but at 28" it should still be growing.

Tom500; why do you recommend the 3' depth? Obviously more is better, but I wouldn't see it as being necessary for a big silver. I'd much rather see a large aro in a, 8x4x2 than an 8x3x3.

I agree that width is more important than height for an aro but a fully grown aro would look a bit squashed in a 2ft high tank i think it wouldn't show it off as well either and i think that 3ft width is enough which is why i didn't say 8x4x3 but like you say the bigger the better!
