What would be the mimimum tank size would be for:
1) Midas
2) severum
3) jag

Thanks ;)

Huge if you could get it to work. 300 I would guess would be bare minimum to try in. 3 jags and a Midas will have territory issues.

sorry, i did not make it clear, if i was to have one in a minmum tank size, So one fish not all 3 together.

imo, 75 gallon for a single midas or severum though with a severum you could keep other fish in there also. for a single female jag again a 75 I think would be fine, however a male jag will eventually do much better in a 125 because they can grow substantially larger (16-18" ish).

I guess if you say MINIMUM...which would be smallest size and not necesarily totally comfortable (meaning TONS of space)

1. Midas = 75 Gallon
2. Severum = 55 Gallon
3. Jaguar = 75-90 Gallon (might need a 120 if the Jag gets over 15")

Midas - 50 wide (36x18x19), Severum - 29 (30x12x18), Jag - 120 (48x24x24)

severums grow waaay to big for a 29. I've seen an adult severum in a 55 and the poor sev didn't look comfy (hence my recommendation for 75). severums can get a lot bigger (and bulkier) than a lot of people realize.

1. Midas = 75 Gallon
2. Severum = 55 Gallon
3. Female Jaguar = 75 Gallon Male Jaguar 120 (my oldest jag did badly in a 90 and did MUCH better in the 120)

Side note, if you like Jags, maybe you may consider a red tiger motaguensis. A male will max around 12" and do well in a 75. I have a breeding pair in the 90 I had the Jag in and they are fine.
