my point is, he shouldn't have criticise other countries.it is rude.please specify that particular person and not Asian countries.Thank you

well everyone else in the world can see with their own eyes that its dam cruel to try to keep a asian aro in a 4x2x2ft tank

if you go to ANY asian web forum and they will tell you its OK to keep aros in a 4x2x2ft and its the normal tank size that people keep their aros in

no matter were the tank is set up US,UK or SG a 4x2x2ft tank is to small for a asian aro thats the facts

its not a attack on asian countrys its not my problem that you guys are so sensertive about keeping your fish in tanks that are way to small for the fish you keep

asians are illegal in the us i believe someone should start an orginization to reintroduce asians into the wild once they come off the C.I.T.E.S. list we could get them here and sorry buddy but 4x2 is too small of a foot print tank must be a minumum width the same as the aro's length and atleast 3 times longer that means minumum footprint to grow out a healthy happy aro is 9'+x3'+ thats huge

i cant see them ever coming off the cities list :(

out of all the aros that the farms breed and make loads of money out of EVERY year i wonder how many have ever been put back into the wild

even if the farms wanted to put asian aros back into the wild it may not be such a good thing as farms just want to make money and give nothing back to a type of fish that has made them sooooo much money

also some of the farms have so many defective fish (swim bladder problems drop eye) would it be such a good thing to let thease kind of bad genes lose on the wild population

no it wouldnt but this is the only way we could ever get some in the states and if enough people wanted to a program could be set up hell i would start one if there was interest in it maybe we should start a poll what do you think???

i have been saying this for ages the best chance of getting asian aros in the US is if you guys get your own breeding program going

but for some reason the only place in the world captive breeding is taking place is in asia i think their is some politics involved

i do find the way asian aros are traded is a joke the asian aro is endangered yet rather than helping the wild population the only thing people are intrested in is filling their parlms full of gold

with any other animal it would be like the panda bear are rare but lets not help the wild population lets breed them and sell them to the highest bidder now that sucks

First of all I don't think that is a very good comparison.
Most people would not keep a Panda Bear even if it is for sale. Would you put them back in the wild when you can charge 1k plus for each one? It is easy to say they need to put them back in the wild and they are being greedy etc, but you are not in the position and probably never will be where you can decide to either A) release the fish into the wild or B) Sell them for a price tag of 1k-4k per fish. The government or some organization needs to step in and pay a certain price per released fish into the wild.

this will not happen unless a private org. is st up first i want to see one of the asian countries care about repopulating this fish and it will probally be up to a hobbyist to do it so dont b so negative some people will do what it takes i would plus if you did breed them in the US you still couldnt sell them cuz C.I.T.E.S. look it up bro

asian aros have made the farms $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ its about time they put something back

even if they took 2% of the harvest every other year and released them it would be something right now it looks to me that the farms have done nothing but fill their pockets

if you look on some of the asian forums the price of some aros has dropped big time this season due to a large harvest so what better time to start releasing fish

or you can drop the price so much that more people can ram 6-8 aros in a 4x2x2ft and others can tell them what a sweet aro com they have in a 4x2x2ft

rather than drop the prices why not keep the prices the same and release the over spill
