30-27 twice over Brookins? wtf kind of judging is that


I feel really bad for Jake Shields...first he loses his dad and then he walks right into a knee. Catapulted Ellenberger...wonder who's next

the 30-27 isn't surprising at all. they were close rounds that could've gone either way. i thought brookins loss the fight as well

i always saw the potential in ellenberger. i like shields but i kind of wanted him to lose in a way because i wanted ellenberger to be in the mix for the title. i'd say he is 1 or 2 fights away only.
 
how can a fight be that close and be 30-27...it's insane to me. I also can't see how Brookins didn't win the first two rounds as he was in control the whole time. I definitely had him losing the 3rd round, but even that was close.

a 30-27 doesn't necessarily mean it was a one sided beat down

in this case, it was a judge who may have seen every round being close but felt Koch did enough to win each round, making his score 30-27

yes brookins was dictating the pace but once he got in the clinch, did absolutely nothing. he had a couple of take downs out of a LOT of attempts and koch was able to get up everytime. while on the feet koch was tagging him and scoring. while up against the fence, nothing was happening, just a lot of hugging, attemped single and doubles and one guy defending. i don't see brookins doing anything to win that fight accept take it to the fence and hugged
 
What about the elbows that landed in the clinch? Randy Couture won fights like that. I just don't get it. At least he was trying to be offensive.

i remember the elbows, he landed like 2 or three but nothing significant

but he was getting lit up on the striking, he was outclassed and had no choice but to tie up. i like brookins dude, he's a real humble guy, great attitude, but he lost that fight in my eyes

randy was successful with his dirty boxing because of his wrestling. he was able to take people down. he'd throw the elbows and short inside punches and take people down and continue with gnp, and when they got up he did it over again. brookins was trying that but he couldn't get the takedown when the dirty boxing was nullified. whenever randy couldnt' take people down, the result was like chuck 2 and machida fights

teenage shogun in a kickboxing match in a freakin living room, he gets ko'd by head kick. I didn't believe it at first until i saw ninja and later you see his face clearly. i then started noticing the way he throws his punches is the same except now it's just more improved and precise of course. shogun would kill this guy today though
