1000% agree Sumo...Never thought I'd agree with maxx. Although Silva was kinda the opposite of a clingy champ and that's what cost him the title, make you like him even just a tiny bit maxxy?
He does what he needs to do to keep the title...can't fault him for that. Sure I would love to see GSP finish everybody he fights but I understand why he does what he does. I'm so excited to see how he does against Hendricks and how his wrestling stands up to someone's of that caliber.

That's exactly what it is. I've heard interviews where he's said exactly that.I think getting caught by Matt Serra affected him. He won 11 straight after that, only finishing 3 of those 11.
MaddMaxx;6547719 I can and I do fault him for it. In my book he doesn't even qualify for the P4P champ said:That's just asinine. A true champion is someone that wins all the time and is humble and doesn't showboat. That fits him exactly. Plus he's a lot smaller than Bones Jones and that's supposed to count for something in pound-for-pound rankings. If you want to say the best fighter out that and not factor in weight, then I can see more merit to Jones being number one, but GSP is still the best fighter there is. GSP has been the champion a lot longer than Jones and that should count for something too, but apparently it should be called flashiest pound-for-pound fighter. Like I said before, this is fighting, not sports entertainment.

I don't care about "flash" just "heart"... Which GSP's cautious ring-prancing and scaredy-cat attitude after getting caught once, shows he has none of. Any true Champ should have the heart of a warrior and dominate their class; not sit back, playing numbers games in an effort to eek out another win and preserve their reign. No one can dispute that he's clutched to his title the longest, but I've got no respect for a fighting "champ" that's afraid to fight.
yes I can. Anderson has held the title the longest. ASilva has that record along with more title defenses and most consecutive wins in the ufc.
but anyways, I tend to agree with maxx. ben Henderson has 8 decisions in a row. but no one is criticizing him because he doesn't fight like gsp. he goes for it, he throws and bangs with them and he goes for finishes on the ground. he takes risks. at the level of competition they are fighting, you can't finish everyone, but you gotta fight with urgency, you gotta try to go for the finish. that's what makes fans wanna pay for the card you are on. gsp does pretty good ppv numbers, but that is also the reason why he's getting criticized. so many people pay for his fights they don't wanna see him fight safe and ride out a decision.
