finally got to watch the 2nd episode of TUF 10...that was ridiculous. the only real good points of McSweeney were his leg kicks, the time he knocked Wes down, the weak choke attempt and he didn't gas as fast, but he still did. I gave both rounds to Wes. I thought there was a possibility of a third round even though neither could really stand up anymore, lol, so I was sure when they said a decision was reached that it was going for Wes. I was very shocked and pissed.
Am I totally off? I mean, Wes had some good punches and took him down in both rounds. That and the fact that he didn't turn his back and run away like the other guy did, lol.

That fight was sad all around. I think in general McSweeney did better but he couldve done so much more. I dont care how tired I am if the guy who might prevent me from furthering my career is standing with his hands on his knees panting Im going to hit him.
I thought McSweeny was better by a lot.
I like Wes, but besides a couple of charges, I'm not sure he really did anything worthwhile.
This is what we are going to get through the first few rounds of these guys. Who has stamina and who doesn't. Then once those are weeded out, we will begin to see real fights.

how was he better? I just don't understand. You can't run away from someone, get taken down a few times and be better. Don't get me wrong, I don't think either deserved to win with their piss-poor conditioning, but McSweeney had pretty bad ground skills and was marginally better if that standing. If Wes would have had the stamina to keep his game plan going, he would have walked all over him. He was gassed half-way through the first round, lol. If McS doesn't improve his conditioning, he's going to lose in the next round, anyway...same for Wes if he had won.
aggression/octagon control - well, that was pretty sad. McS kept turning his back and running and he didn't capitalize hardly at all when Wes was gassed and he still had a little left. Both of them just basically stood there for half the fight. IDK if takedowns fit into this category, but Wes obviously had the advantage there.
striking - gave a SLIGHT edge to McS (maybe even just for the sake of argument)...think Wes would have won that if he hadn't gassed
grappling - who was on their back most of the time on the ground and who went for more submissions?
