A few of things.

1. THe fact that the mention Dana White, and how he wouldn't have let that happen, shows that they are feeling the heat.

2. Nick Diaz? I mean, I like Nick, but Nick Diaz? This is the guy who will "settle the debate"? Silly. Nick is not the guy that I would choose as having the best chance.

3. Shouldn't a boxer come and fight in mma then? I mean, how is having a mma guy go and fight in boxing "settle the debate"?

4. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Diaz just test positive again? How is he able to go and box? If this is this case, what does it say about boxing that they go and get Diaz out of all the guys?

5. I will certainly be watching.

As long as I don't have to pay for it. Boxing cards suck.

I still remember that show that Joe Rogan hosted that only lasted a few episodes that Was during the whole Floyde Mayweather Jr. crap. Where the then champ (sean sheark) told Joe that he would box Jr the next day. and Since Jr. hasn't been talking as much if At all.

and there is plenty of guys that used to box professionally then moved to MMA. So what's the big fuss. and I totally agree when you say that a boxer needs to go and fight in the MMA. It's hard to compare the two sports unless the same two fighters do a MMA and a boxing fight and see if one can win both.

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will meet Shane Carwin in his second title defense at UFC 106 on Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Sherdog.com has confirmed the news through several sources with knowledge of the agreement. MMAMadness.com was the first to report on the card shift that will see Carwin move from a scheduled bout against Cain Velasquez at UFC 104.

Carwin has not answered calls for comment, but posted a message on his official Web Site Wednesday night.

“I can't confirm or deny anything. I can just tell you guys that I am training harder then ever and your support and loyalty will carry me through any fight they send my way,” he wrote.

Scheduling problems led to the dissolution of the previously agreed to Carwin-Velazquez matchup, according to a UFC source speaking anonymously because they were not authorized speak.

Lesnar, the company’s top pay-per-view draw, had minor surgery after defeating Frank Mir in July, creating uncertainty as to when he would be available to fight again.

His quick recovery allowed the promotion to bring him back in November, but with all of the top heavyweights already scheduled to fight, it was necessary to break up one of those bouts.

Carwin became a buzzworthy suitor for the champion following swift first-round technical knockouts over Neil Wain at UFC 89 and Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 96. Carwin, a 1999 NCAA Div. II wrestling champion, battled back from an early knockdown from the Brazilian to finish Gonzaga with his heavy hands.

Lesnar, 32, unified the heavyweight title and avenged his only loss with a second-round drubbing of former interim champion Frank Mir at UFC 100 last July. Lesnar, a 2000 NCAA Div. I heavyweight champion, won the title against perennial competitor Randy Couture by second-round TKO at UFC 91 last November. It was the former World Wrestling Entertainment star’s fourth professional bout.

I think Mayweather would destroy Sean Sherk if they boxed. Obviously if it was MMA Sherk would win.

Anyone read about Anderson Silva fighting Heavyweight?

idk but the picture in my head of him kicking brock lesnar in the face is hilarous

I'm bummed that Carwin can't fight Velasquez. Although he should make a worthy opponent for lesnar, I would like to have seen him defeat Cain first to solidify himself more and get a little more experience.

+1. Not to mention I think that Cain would have beat Carwin, but on records alone, I think Cain's is as good as Carwin's right now anyway.

It's a good business move by the UFC. If Cain and Carwin would have fought we would have 1 winner and a looser. The winner would have moved on to fight Lesnar but if Lesnar would have won there would be no more contender. This way Carwin will fight and if he looses Cain is still the next contender since they are feeding him a semi can that he should beat easily.
