MMA News and Notes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Probably best for Carwin. I think he might lose that fight based on his cardio and Nelson's chin.

yea, read this yesterday, bummer. i wanted to see roy ko shain too

and Bader/Jones still green lit apparently. still nothing inked yet

That's sad. I think he was really doing well against Silva when they fought a while back (but messed up his knee during the fight). He hasn't really made a splash since, but business is business.

^ Go Megumi!!!

anyways, MAJOR NEWS from Dana White.

http://www.mmafighting.com/2010/10/28/dana-white-wec-ufc-to-merge-in-2011/

UFC and WEC will merge Jan 2011. That means UFC will take on 135 and 145 weight classes.

makes sense now, I recently read about Jose Aldo being asked to fight Kenny Florian and Aldo's camp declined. They want Aldo to defend his title 1 or 2 more times. It was weird they would ask him since he's still under contract with WEC. I guess this explains it.

but Varner, Cowboy, Ben Henderson added to the lw div is sweet!

4 events on Verses in 2011, Jose Aldo may fight in January. Rumored to be Mark Hominick but Dana said that was just a rumor.

I'm STOKED!!!!

With any luck, it will add a few more fights to free tv, but more importantly, add some excitement to some pretty disappointing ppvs. I was really happy when I read that story earlier today.

Good Dana White interview

more fights and I always like watching the lighter guys since they always bring it. I also like the possibility of a TUF season with a bunch of 135 or 145 guys. There is also a possibility of a lightweight unification fight between Ben Henderson and the winner of the Franky Edgar and Gray Meynard fight which would be exciting.
