toothpick in the mouth is insane. he's done it before too even back in the wec. i'm sure now the athletic commisions won't allow it

it was an awesome free card. that card was actually ppv worthy so the fans win. the prelims were great too. some good finishes. main card went pretty much exactly the way i predicted. i gave ben a slight edge but i did not know he'd dominate like that. i knew his wrestling was gonna be the difference in the fight but damn, his striking was pretty sweet. he followed an excellent game plan and he was very well prepared to fight diaz where diaz was just preparing for a fight, imo.

i picked bj and shogun to lose. it's sad for me to say that since i've been a long time fan of theirs

Ya, Diaz only landed 30 strikes. Usually he averages about 30 a round; Ben did a great job.
I also picked BJ and Shogun to lose. I'm a huge Shogun fan too, so it sucks, but Gus has been on a terror and has very good range.
Shogun hit Gus with some monster shots, so at least we learned that Gus can take a punch like a champ haha.

yea young lions like gus and rory are the future. the old veterans can't hang with them anymore. mma is surely seeing a change because now they are more advanced and knowledgable in the training regimes and what not. plus everyone pretty much trains to be well rounded so it's looking good for mma

although sales are struggling i still see a good future

btw, did anyone see the one armed guy fight? he won a title in a smaller org. he's actually pretty good but i feel eventually he will meet better competition and the arm disadvantage will limit him

currently he's 9-0 with 8 stoppages, only 1 going to decision.

he actully isn't armless on one side, he has an arm that goes passed the elbow and ends in a stub with tiny fingers. looks like cabbage patch doll fingers. just a physical defect

I forget his name, but I've seen him. He's got huge kicks, but I agree he won't be able to hang with the good grapplers.

i think it's nick newall or something

but ya, he's very athletic and doing great against lower cometition but i think the disadvantage will become more apparent against the elite

yeah, Nick Newell. Sadly, I got rid of cable, so I can't watch him on HDNet anymore. I still get some free cable channels and a DVR, so I got to record watch UFC on Fox 5 (would get that even if I only had an antennae, but I digress). Sad night for me with Shogun losing. I wanted Nate to win, but it didn't really even look like he belonged in there. I never was a huge BJ fan, but I wanted him to win, too. Rory is the exact type of fighter they were talking about a few years ago on the Pride fight highlight show with Jay Glazer and Frank Trigg (the one before The UFC-owned Pride one). He came off a little too cocky for my liking, but I don't hate him.

i'm not a huge bj fan either but i've always liked watching him fight and he's been around for a long time

i dont' care if rory showboated as long as he performed. only thing i'd criticize him about is that i feel he could've finished bj and he seemed to cruise to a victory. bj was completely done and had nothing left. he could've stopped him and added to his hype.

pwmin, stream bro, stream

and it's not hdnet anymore. it's axs tv now and they changed channels too for me at least

yeah, axstv, I'm stuck in the past, lol.

I haven't figured out how to stream MMA yet as I haven't really looked into it. I stream other stuff with Navi-X.

GSP taught Rory really well how not to finish fights. Rory didn't really showboat that much, so it didn't bother me too much. It's not like he was running around the cage like that clown Silva :D

Best scoring of the night was Nam Phan vs Siver
30-24, 30-25, 30-26

Really 3, 10-8 rounds? Talk about how siver cant finish.
