Anderson all the way. there's no one in the ufc i'd root for against Anderson

but I am a bit nervous for Anderson. dan Henderson and chael sonnen had the wrestling to beat Anderson but they both failed. maia had the jiu jitsu to beat Anderson but he failed.

Weidman has the wrestling and the threat of submissions at his arsenal. so we'll see if he can use it. we know he won't beat Anderson standing. they may say he's not afraid to stand with Anderson but I guarantee you that's not their game plan. he'll have to mix it with takedowns and once he gets them, he'll have to work for submissions. i'm thinking an arm triangle is what chris will pull off to stop Anderson. maybe if he can somehow secure the back, a rear naked choke. I don't see armbars, kneebars, triangles and heel hooks happening. either that or he uses wrestling and controls Anderson for 5 rounds. it's safe to say his submission defense is much better than chael's.

but we'll never know until that night. there are a lot of people saying he's not ready for Anderson yet. but there are many that thinks he will be the new champ.

it's one thing to see someone so dominant when they are fighting their way to the top, but it's a whole other thing when it's Anderson standing across the cage. so I don't know. but of course i'm rooting for anderson

Same here...lots of hype surrounding Wiedman,Dana White is all but predicting him to take out Silva but The Spider is my pick.

Yeah.Hes the Don King of MMA but I thought there was some friction between him and Silva?

I think if Weidman beats silva it will be by decision. I just can't see him finishing silva. I read this article about how Chris times his takedowns with guys punches and uses a single leg instead of a double because it negates the wizard and kills guys balance. They are so sure it is the perfect stle for silva. I see 2 problems...
1: Silva is almost strictly a counterpuncher. So you can't just wait for a punch then time your takedowns, you have to just dive in like sonnen did.
2: Silva has a crazy high accuracy with his punches, so even if you DO provoke a punch there is a good chance it lands and you forget what you are reaching for again.

Personally I think spidey will be insanely illussive in the 1st and have Weidman throw his gameplay out the window, and by round 2 he will be fighting with his hand by his side and making Chris look as bad as Okami, Griffen, Bonnar ect ect.

if silva is going to get stopped, it's by submission so if chris doesn't want to go five rounds that's what he'll have to go for.

i'm sure silva will get taken down at some point, the question is whether chris can do it for 5 rounds and keep him down or have the cardio to do it for 5 rounds. he doesn't appear to have the style like sonnen to constantly smother and over power his opponents with brute strength and cardio. it's gonna be a must see

I see 3 outcomes, maybe 4.

silva embarrasses chris and shows he wasn't ready for the champ with a tko victory
chris is able to take silva down and get dominant position and find an opening to secure a submission
chris overwhelms with wrestling and takes a decision over the champ
silva fights a tough 5 round fight but comes out with the decision

I have a new conspiracy theory...
Dana White isn't to fond of people calling bones P4P champ after such a short career. So he decided to get some chump (Weidman) and build him up to seem like a giant killer. He told countless top ranked fighters to pick Weidman to upset Silva or go fight in Bellator. Then when Silva destroys this can like he has the rest of them they can pump the heck out of it, restoring Silva's elite status.

I don't know about that. I believe dana and the ufc would love that there is a debate between who is p4p. there is more money to be made that way. arguably there are three #1 p4p's. gsp too

of the 3 I think it's Anderson at this point but jones can surpass him depending on how he does years from now.

but in the end, we won't truly know until all 3 are retired and we can reflect on each one's career to compare

See I don't even count GSP anymore. Both Jones and Silva finish fights. Can you even name the last fight GSP finished? Sure he has glimpses of entertainment and he is extremely dominant, but it is boring. I see the majesty in his wrestling and I appreciate him as a fighter, but most don't. He comes off as boring and to careful. He is there to win rounds, not stop fights.
