It should be a good fight with an interesting aftermath.

Anyone watch the fights? I read play by play when I got up this morning And was surprised by some of the results and buy the lack of finishes. I guess I have been spoiled by the last few cards and all the amazing subs and shocking KO's. Still a seemingly solid card.

I have not seen the fight yet so I'm avoiding all posts and other forums until then to avoid spoilers. I don't know the results

gonna watch today. I'll be back later to input

SPOILER ALERT!!

I watched the UFC recap live after the fights at 3am haha couldn't sleep.. it seems herb dean blew a call with a premature stoppage on uriah faber (not that it was looking good for him anyway).Hate to see it ended like that but I like Herb though...rarely makes mistakes aside from lastnight.

also Mir NEEDS to retire. he's had such an iconic career but is starting to leave a bad after taste with all these accumulating disappointing fights/losses.

Yep, SPOILERS.

The first fight on the main card was insane; Varner vs Trujillo. One of the best come back KO's I've seen in a while.

I think that Overeem wanted to make a point that he could go a full 3 rounds. It was kind of a boring fight. I think Mir landed about 10 strikes the whole fight. Mirs' chin was better than I expected though, because he ate some big shots. Complete domination by Reem.

Some people weren't happy with the Aldo vs Lima fight. Aldo pretty much just taught him a lesson for the first 3 rounds, and then slowed down a bit in the 4th, and didn't even try in the 5th. The first 3 rounds were pretty entertaining though.

Barao vs Faber was pretty fast paced while it lasted. Barao looked great. In Herb Deans defense, Faber got dropped twice and then just turtled. He gave Herb a thumbs up with the hand that was under Baraos' leg. It was kind of a bad stoppage, but Faber was hurt and probably wouldn't have survived the round.

I agree with, d3r. Mir should probably hang 'em up. He could still make a good trainer, but his hopes of a title run are pretty much gone.

just finished watching

that Trujillo/varner fight was sick. Trujillo made varner fight his fight and it turned into a slug fest. they were not playing patty cake. it was just a matter of who was gonna land that big shot. props to Trujillo for being hurt, keeping his composure and standing his ground. that was a flush shot to the chin/jaw. I haven't looked at who won fight bonuses but in my eyes Trujillo bagged the ko of the night and fight of the night

I've always felt aldo has the best low kicks in mma. his form, his delivery, the power, technique, just a perfect combination for devastating low kicks. I gave ricardo only the last round. first round was close but I gave it to aldo and the middle rounds were aldo's decisively even though he slowed a little in the fourth. aldo had some amazing combos in that one round, I think it was the third. left hook/low kick. his counter and speed was beautiful to watch. ricardo seemed over matched until part of the fourth and then fifth. It will be a very interesting fight against pettis. jose will not need to cut a lot of weight. both guys explosive and possess the ability to ko eachother. size goes to pettis and I give speed to aldo.

barao/faber was stopped early. it sucks because faber had to defend his head while try to show he was still ok to go on. he was definitely hurt but he was still in the fight. barao is a killer though. undisputed top bantamweight in the world. faber is such a classy guy though man, gives props to the winner, doesn't blame herb, takes it like a man but you know he was disappointed.

about mir, I'm actually concerned about guys like him. continuously taking beatings. too tough for his own good maybe. overeem did good, didn't go crazy for the kill, picking his shots, being economical with his striking. good job
