Props to Faberdude. He's a hell of a fighter, absolutely solid, and well rounded.

Decent boxing for an MMA guy too.

Pulver looked borderline shot, but still, he hadn't been defeated at this weight, so it's a great win for Faber.

Beings that Faber looked up to Pulver as he got started in MMA when Pulver was fighting in the UFC, and then to be able to climb the ranks and then get to fight him says alot. Beating him is just icing on the cake...I like how Pulver raised Fabers arm at the end giving him the win...
MMA fighters seem to have alot of class that way.

My thoughts on the fights this weekend:

EliteXC -

Production was doo doo. The entrances made me feel like I was watching a pro wrestling match, not martial arts. I don't need fireworks or busta rhymes or backup dancers to be entertained.

I've decided that I'm in love with Gina Carano. Everyone needs to chill about her not making weight, sure, she was 4 lbs over, but I think that at minimum 6-7 lbs are tied up in her headlights, so to speak ;) Weight wasn't a factor in this fight. Gina is a hard hitter and I'm actually surprised that they didn't stop the fight a few punches earlier.

The Kimbo fight was fixed. Any legitimate referee would have stopped the fight when Kimbo was on his back and left about 30 elbows go unanswered.

WEC -

The Torres fight was great, sucks that it was stopped, though, safety first. I think Torres would have pulled it off anyway but props to both fighters, I want to see a lot more of each of them.

I was rooting for Pulver but Faber has proven that he's a beast. I've noticed a change in Faber's attitude, seems less cocky as before. Hopefully he's got a publicist now to let him know that he has been coming off as a douchebag in interviews for past fights.

I hope that we haven't seen the last of Jens Pulver. He could probably wreck shop in the 155 division of the WEC?

For Pulver having a LEFT that is supposed to be able to knock anybody in MMA out, I sure didn't see it go off that much...Maybe it was FABERS speed getting off punches faster that negated the big left...

Faber would duck his head down like he was shooting for Pulver's legs, but it would throw a right hand at the same time. That one landed on Jens at least 5-6 times throughout the fight.

I think Faber is just so fast that he broke Jens down to the point that he couldn't fully execute any of his usual means of beating an opponent. What did remain was Jens' ability to take a beating...he was smiling and having fun through the whole fight with every shot that Faber landed. Definitely one of the best fights this year.

I only saw one Faber fight before, so I figured he was just getting an easy ride, but I give him mad props after seeing that fight. I think he looked great minus the super lame cornrows.
