i gnerally use Aquarium Adventure. guess their a chain since there 4 others in the country, and their owned by Petland.

Aquarium Adventure is great! I don't really know if you could consider them a chain store though.

I shop at a great "mom and pop" store but this isn't your average mom n pop store. Tanks from 1g all the way to 1000 gallons in stock in all kinds of various sizes. Over at least 100 different freshwater species even more saltwater. I think their smallest display tank is 100 gallons and they have a more than 5 that are over 250 including a 1100 gallon indoor koi and pleco pond complete with 3' koi and common pleco's and a chocolate at 2 and a half feet. They have about 25 differnet ca/sa cichlid tanks and about 10 african tanks. If anyone of you all MFK'ers is ever in Greensboro NC you have to stop here and check it out. Ususally they are priced right at petsmart and petco as we have 3 of those in our city too. They just beat petsmart/petco hands down, in stock, healthiness, knowledge, displays, tanks, just in every category. Only problem with them is they are still a "mom n pop" store that is closed on Sunday.

What's the name of the place? I used to live in Greensboro and go back in the summer. I buy my fish from breeders and my supplies I buy on line.

Yup. I just don't have a choice. It's either that or petsmart/petco.

BTW, what does RMS stand for?

I don't have a credit card (I've been meaning to get one these years...) so online is out for me. Probably a good thing, because I'd be broke if I could order all the things I drool at online :D

I have a PetSmart nearby, but I drive three times the distance to go to my LFS... the prices may be slightly higher, but... I like the guy and he really knows his stuff, way more than any PetSmart flunky ;)

I'm not exactly a 'buy local' guy, because to me it all comes from China and I'm a student, and can't exactly afford paying a few bucks extra on everything I buy. But I have a personal attachment to this LFS, and prefer to give him my money than a massive company.

He isn't opened on weekends, and I'll even wait a couple of days to buy something from him even though I could go to PetSmart - even though I'm anxious to get it. Customer loyalty, it works :D

i only buy fish from internet, unless I see something I like at a store
