Happens to a lot of people. People who are uneducated in snakes don't like them, they have bad reputations, and it sticks with people and it's hard to change peoples minds on them.

Then there are people who don't like rodents in the freezer either.

A lot of the time it is just an irrational fear (lack of education in these animals doesn't help). Apparently phobia's are the most common mental illness among women of all age groups (only the second most common illness among men over 25...). So maybe your women comment holds more water than you thought lol.

My mom says that we can;t have any more caged animals. She won't let me have a monitor lizard because they eat mice. So pretty much all she will allow in the house is a dog or cat, which family members have allergies to both (me excluded).

And by the way... I am in college... paying $600+/month to be in a dorm that is a size of a walk-in closet. I am looking at moving into a three or four-bedroom townhouse for $1000-$1300/month in my name with a roommate or two or three...

Just thought I might as well throw it out there since I have no idea how much rents are going in your area.
