MONSTER Bala Shark Thread

Hi There!

Four months ago I got three Balasfrom Petsmart, and they are doing good in my 60 gal tank, but I have an issue with two of them. One of them is growing, and is now about 5"-6", but the other two are still about 2 1/2" to 3", and do no seem to be growing. Any ideas? I do two 40% water changes a week, and the water parameters are good.

Might have been stunted, or maybe not getting enough food cuz the big guy is a hog

bala were my first fish and in personal experience, if i just had 2, one would pick on another. if i had 3-4 or more they were ok. basically like other fish that do better 3+

But it can also depend on the tank size, conditions, tank mates and such, stress can make alot happen.

they are very nice, and always on the move jolting around.

my 3 are 4" i also have 8-4" redtail tinfoils hopefully they get massive for me all post some pic then now they are just like all the rest! hopefully they get big enough that my aro and gar don't eat them!

Hello, update, my 4 are now 8 inches long and body 2 inches high not including fins, they are growing well, just as fast as tinfoils which I also have 5 of in the tank. These 2 types of fish go good together but need a big tank.

THere not hard to find and they dont need a MONSter tank. They are my favorite fish and there great to have. GET ONE
