Joe i do the Carp in the summer and the Preds in the winter. The reason carp are getting so big are the Boilies(the bate) they are so high in Protean they stack it on. A few years back you caught a 20lb fish in England you were do something right they are becoming a lot more common The Ebro in Spain (as we mentioned the other day) is tossing up 30lb fish all the time.

Monster Size!

It looks like it's going for a trip in a bag that can hold water:)

What are you going to do with it?

MONSTER!!

Nice!! You keep them or eat them? Blah!

That big carp is worth about £20 a lb so it will go back as the man who owns the lake might be a bit upset. all Carp fishing in the UK is catch and release. I was once told a few years back by a Polish angler I met in France that carp are delicious but they taste muddy over 10 lb. I know this is also true with pike over the 5lb mark.

The bag is an unhooking mat as I said these big carp are worth a fortune. People will pay big money to catch a 30lb + fish. Fish welfare is a must you drop it and kill it you are not going to be a popular man. THe Mississippi river is full of them they are just not widely fished for. In Australia they are considered vermin and Canada is producing some huge fish at the moment.
