Just got back from France 6 days carp fishing did quite well the biggest fish 42lb the next one down 32 followed by a 30lb common then 24 and a 21 and a load of smaller stuff thought I would share as a lot of Americans now getting into the Carp seen. This has been big here in England for 30+ Years now and growing like the fish.:headbang2

Nice Carp! Pretty much my favorite fish to catch, especially the Grass Carp. Most of us over here in the US are too good for carp apparently. Some idiot told another idiot and spread it to more idiots that these are trash fish only. Most guys over here will look down on you for posting a carp. They shoot these carp all the time here just for fun and let die. I know there isnt anyone here or elsewhere that dont properly dispose of their bowfishking kill but you see a lot of dead carp of all sorts are larger lakes, sucks. But oh well, what can you do? I wish I had a lake around here to catch commons that big and the others. Ive caught some nice mirrors bot nothing over 15 lbs. I may be heading out today since no rain for the first time in forever and see if the grass carp are ready to be fed.

carp don't eat meat and they are filter fish kinda like whales except with filters in their gill.

They are not filter feeders, that eat just about anything from vegetation to meat. I caught a carp one time on a bluegill head, he was just sucking the guts out and sucked in the hook as well. I catch them on liver, hotdogs, etc.

Carp on my fly rod is a blast. Good 10 minute fight. Either a crayfish pattern (wooly booger) or a cicada dry fly is a blast.
